Meeting Minutes

-          Decided preliminary duties/preferences for building of robot and roles at meetings
Zu – Treasurer, help w/ programming, purchasing agent
Kevin – meeting agendas, moderator, hardware portion or robot, help w/ programming
Matt – main portion of programming, drive train
Jim – secretary, keep minutes, keep graphics notebook, hardware and/or software of robot, run ftp site for storing electronic documents

-          Meetings to be held at 6:30 on Tuesday and Thursday alternating between Stradley and Lincoln Halls

-          Length of meetings not set, sufficient work must be complete

-          Preliminary pseudo-code
    1.        Determine side of course robot is on
    2.        Maneuver to marbles (tank tracks?)
    3.        Pick up marbles (type of pickup device, keeping marbles from falling out chute)
    4.        Sort of marbles (gravity, corkscrew control, electromagnet)
    5.        Maneuver to deposit area
    6.        Deposit marbles
    7.        Leave area

-          Discussed types of sensors needed
Touch
Mercury
IR (possibly for navigation?)
Light (light levels?)

-          Decided robot will not play music

-          Thought about using step-by-step programming – creating hardware and writing code to complete each task in pseudo-code one at a time instead of all at once

-          Discussed if battery or tethered power cord would be better (power requirements, power drawn by motors)

-          Went over syllabus to come up with preliminary schedule

-          Next meeting: Thursday April 1, 6:30, 702 Stradley
